Bird watching in Thailand, the paradise for birders. Over 900 species of birds occur in Thailand. Khao Yai national park is one of the top bird watching sites where you have a good chance to 'tick' a whole list of our feathered friends. Popular species include the 4 hornbill species of which the Great Hornbill and the Oriental Pied Hornbill are most often seen followed by the Wreathed Hornbill and the Brown Hornbill, Siamese Fireback, Silver Pheasant, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Red-breasted Parakeet, Scarlet Minivet, Red-headed Trogon, Coral-billed Ground-Cuckoo, Large-tailed Nightjar, Blue-winged Leafbird, Moustached Barbet, Greater Flameback, Crested Serpent-Eagle, Long-tailed Broadbill, Blue Pitta just to name a few.
On our tours you will be accompanied by a top birder with local knowledge and the ability to identify lots of birds by their calls and of course by sight. Our birding guides know the whole country, and some have even travelled to neighbouring countries like Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar. They really know what they are talking about. If you have some specific birds on your mind, we will help you to find the best sites.
On our bird watching tours we will visit some popular stake-outs of birds, wander around in the jungle, track the sounds of birds and in some cases we even set off with a safari car with spotlight to look for nocturnal wildlife including birds like Nightjars and Owls.
