Khao Yai national park in one day; short, but worth it!
We offer both group and private tours of one day. Both options start with a slow drive into the park and a few hours hiking in the jungle looking for wildlife. We continue with a visit to Haew Suwat waterfall known from the movie 'The Beach', and have lunch in a restaurant, nearby. After enjoying the waterfall, we go to the highest viewpoint of the park, where you can overlook the vast forested area of Khao Yai. The last hour(s) before it gets dark, we'll do a 'game drive' looking for wild elephants (not guaranteed). The group tour ends after this drive (around 18:30 - 19:00). One-and-a-half-day tours in Khao Yai national park. These tours always start with the half day (15.00 to 19.00) and the second day is a full day in the national park. The half day starts with a swim in a clear spring, and around sunset we watch millions of bats flying out of a cave, an amazing sight! Both the spring and the cave are not located in the national park itself. On our 1.5-day group tours it is not possible to sleep in the national park, but on our private trip you have the option to spend the night in the park. In that case we enter the park after dark. We might see some nocturnal wildlife on the way in.
The second day, the full day, starts around 8.00 - 8.30. The day starts with a walk of a couple of hours in the evergreen forests of Khao Yai. We'll have lunch in one of the park restaurants and visit one of the major waterfalls. We visit a beautiful viewpoint and spend the last hour(s) before the sun sets as a game drive looking for wild elephants (not guaranteed!). Khao Yai National Park 2-Day Tours:
Jungle Hiking & Wildlife Tours!"Trekking in the rainforest while looking for wildlife"
Khao Yai national park has a lot to offer. Thick evergreen forests, great waterfalls, over 70 species of mammals, even more reptiles and the park is famed about its bird populations. Over 300 species have been recorded, the hornbills definitely being the most 'wanted' amongst bird watchers.
Day 1 we start with a jungle walk and visit a beautiful waterfall. Afterwards, we visit the highest viewpoint in the park. In the late afternoon, we drive around to look for wild elephants. The group tours leave the park after this. On a private tour we'll have dinner and after dinner we end the day with a night safari with spotlight. On our private tours it is possible to spend the night in the park, on our group tours this is not an option.
Day 2 we'll do another jungle hike and continue our program with a visit to Khao Yai's most impressive and highest waterfall, Haew Narok in the far south of the park. The late afternoon we'll go for another game drive to look for elephants or, optionally for private tours, we'll watch a few million of wrinkle-lipped bats fly out at sunset, instead. These two-and-a-half-day tours in Khao Yai are the best way to discover the jungle and the wildlife of Thailand. The itinerary includes everything you wish for: wildlife & bird watching, jungle trekking, magnificent waterfalls, a spotlighting drive (only on private tours) and the amazing 'river of bats'. And what's better than being guided by a naturalist guide with a keen eye for spotting wildlife?
The 2.5-day group tour is a combination of the 1.5-day + 1-day group tour. On our group tour it is not possible to overnight in the park and we don't include a night safari.
The private tour is as follows:
Day 1 (half day): In the afternoon we first have a swim in a clear spring, and around sunset we wait for millions of bats to start their daily feeding migration, you'll be surprised about the amount of bats! Both the spring and the cave are located outside the park boundaries. As an optional promotion we offer free overnight stays in the park (in a cabin or tent, depending on your preference and availability). If you stay overnight in the park we'll drive into the park after sunset. We might see some nocturnal wildlife on the way in.
Day 2: We continue with a jungle walk in the morning. In the afternoon, we visit Khao Yai's highest waterfall, Haew Narok in the far south of the park. Before dinner we spend our time driving around in search for wild elephants (Not guaranteed!). After dinner we end the day with a night drive with spotlight.
Day 3: In the morning, we start with a jungle walk and visit Haew Suwat waterfall. After lunch we'll visit a great lookout with a wide vista over a vast forested area. The last hour(s) before darkness falls, we'll end the tour with a game drive to search for elephants.

Day 1: We start with a slow drive into the park and a few hours hiking in the jungle looking for wildlife. In the afternoon, we visit Haew Suwat waterfall (from 'The Beach') and the highest viewpoint of the park. Before having dinner, we'll set out for a game drive in search for wild elephants. We have dinner in the park and when darkness falls we start a night drive with a spotlight to look for nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2: We continue with a jungle walk in the morning. And in the afternoon, we visit Khao Yai's highest waterfall, Haew Narok in the far south of the park. Again we spend the late afternoon looking for elephants or other wildlife. After dinner we end the day with a second spotlighting night safari (drive).
Day 3: In the morning, we'll do a slow drive to look for wildlife and start a jungle walk. After lunch we will leave the park and have a swim in a clear spring outside the park and around sunset we will watch millions of bats take off from a cave. An impressive sight!
